How earning works

Use AI to create a listing from a single photo in the app, or list manually in minutes.

    Snap a photo

    Take one or more photos of your item. In the app, our AI fills in the title, description, category and a suggested price.

  2. 2

    Set your price

    Review the listing and set your own daily and weekly rates. You can change them at any time.

  3. 3

    Approve bookings

    See each renter’s profile, trust score and ID-verification status. Accept or decline — you stay in control of who rents your items.

  4. 4

    Get paid

    Your share transfers to your Stripe balance the moment you approve a booking, and Stripe pays it to your bank on its standard schedule. No chasing payments.

Note: vehicles and real estate listings are not permitted on Rentsome.

How payouts work

Funds transfer automatically through Stripe Connect. No invoices, no chasing.

    Booking approved

    The renter’s card is charged and your share transfers to your Stripe balance.

  2. Step 2

    Payout sent

    Stripe pays your balance to your bank daily, on its standard settlement timing.

  3. Step 3

    Item picked up

    The security deposit is held on the renter’s card.

  4. Step 4

    Item returned

    You have 72 hours to file a claim if needed.

Renters pay their own service fee and sales tax on top of your price — it is not deducted from your payout.

Stripe Connect powers all payouts

Connect your bank account in minutes. Your share moves to your Stripe balance when you approve a booking; Stripe then pays out daily on its standard US timing (about two business days), and some banks take an extra day or two to post it.

If something goes wrong, file a claim within 72 hours of the return. Rentsome mediates disputes fairly.

Their first rental is fee-free. You get $20.

Share your referral code from the Rentsome app. A friend who joins with it pays no service fee on their first rental, and when that rental completes you receive a $20 credit that is applied automatically to the service fee on your own bookings.
