Rent a canopy tent from a neighbor near you

Shade or rain cover for one party, one market stall or one soccer season is a 10x10 pop-up canopy from a neighbor. They are awkward to store and easy to borrow.

What it costs to rent a canopy tent

Rental counters typically charge about $30 to $80 a day for a canopy tent, plus a damage waiver and tax. On Rentsome, neighbors set their own daily rate, and it is usually lower because they are not running a store. Every booking adds a 15% service fee (minimum $2) and sales tax, both shown before you confirm. A refundable security deposit is held on your card, never charged, and released 72 hours after you return it.

A new canopy tent runs roughly $100 to $400. At about $55 a day, renting stays cheaper until you have used it around 5 days in total, before counting storage, maintenance and the resale value you never get back.

What people rent a canopy tent for

  • Backyard parties and cookouts
  • Market and craft-fair booths
  • Sideline shade at kids’ games
  • Graduation and shower receptions

Check at pickup

  • Open it at pickup and check the frame, canopy fabric and sidewalls.
  • Confirm the stakes, weights or sandbags are included; wind flips an unweighted canopy.
  • Count the parts and the carry bag.
  • Return it dry; a wet-packed canopy mildews in a day.

Renting a canopy tent: common questions

How does the security deposit work?

It is a hold on your card sized to the item’s declared value, never a charge. It releases automatically 72 hours after you return the item, unless the owner files a damage claim within that window.
