Rent a pressure washer from a neighbor near you
A pressure washer gets used two or three weekends a year and spends the rest of its life in a garage losing its seals. Borrowing one from a neighbor for the day covers the driveway, deck and siding for a fraction of the price of owning.
What it costs to rent a pressure washer
Neighbors on Rentsome are listing pressure washers at $20 a day right now. Every booking adds a 15% service fee (minimum $2) and sales tax, both shown before you confirm. A refundable security deposit is held on your card, never charged, and released 72 hours after you return it.
A new pressure washer runs roughly $150 to $500. At about $20 a day, renting stays cheaper until you have used it around 16 days in total, before counting storage, maintenance and the resale value you never get back.

What people rent a pressure washer for
- Driveways, patios and walkways before spring
- Decks and fences before staining
- Siding, gutters and outdoor furniture
- Cars, boats and trailers
Check at pickup
- Ask whether it is gas or electric: concrete wants 2,500 PSI and up, decks and cars want a gentler electric unit.
- Confirm the nozzle tips and a surface-cleaner attachment are included; they halve the time on flat concrete.
- Start it with the owner and note the fuel level you receive.
- Photograph the unit, hose and wand at pickup.
Renting a pressure washer: common questions
Do I need to return it with fuel?
Most owners of gas units ask for the same fuel level you received, and that you run the pump dry of water. The listing or a quick message settles it.
Can I rent for half a day?
If the listing shows an hourly rate, yes. Otherwise the minimum is one day, which covers a typical driveway, patio and fence in one go.
How does the security deposit work?
It is a hold on your card sized to the item’s declared value, never a charge. It releases automatically 72 hours after you return the item, unless the owner files a damage claim within that window.
